We have found two 6030's exhibiting the J05 code immediately following warm up and coming to ready each day. The first sheet through the machines, immediately following coming to ready, feeds up to the registration roller and waits there for approx. 30 seconds and times out. When the machine times out it throws the J05 code. The paper is in the nip of the rollers, not damaged or wrinkled, but just stops and times out. It doesn't seem to matter if the first sheet is a print job or copy job, it is like waiting for the "write" command that never comes. Once you clear the jam, you can run 10K prints the rest of the day and no jams. This seems to occur each morning and is occuring on two different machines. Firmware is current and we have replaced boards, feed motors, switches, rollers, fd roller, etc. and no solution. Hotline states they have never had reports on this. The main drive of the 6030's continue to drive while this "time out" period is occuring until the J05 occurs. At one location, there is a sister 6030 next to one of the problem machines and it is set up exactly the same and never shows J05 codes. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have had a few 6030's doing odd stuff first thing in the morning, bad copies and jams. I found that the tray heaters are defaulted to off after changing simm 327 haven't had anybody call back yet.

I don't know if this is pertinent, but on some of the analog Canon machines if the scanner could not reach home position in time to scan or the lamp did not reach the desired brightness, the record paper would arrive in the nip of the registration rollers then just sit there for 30 seconds or more. Sometime it would pull a jam eventually. Some machines would just say "Copying" conceivably forever and the motor would continue to hum along, sometimes for hours. Maybe the exposure lamp is slow to light first thing in the morning...? =^..^=
