Have a 3050 and when the fax system is in the copier it locks up and says add paper in drawer 3, paper is in drawer 3, remove fax system and copier runs perfect run 906 and unit will preform 906. Place fax back into unit and bingo locks up and says to place paper in drawer 3 and will lock up in 906. Now here is the funny thing.... replace fax system with new, and unit has the same problem. Frustrating thing is this unit worked fine till I came in to look at a scan paper orintation problem and I never touched a thing yet... and this does this as I am standing in front of this unit...HELP!!!

We had a similar problem when these machines were out for a couple months. Have you updated the firmware? What took care of it for us was to change the default paper tray for the fax to MP tray. What printed out was a junk fax. Funny thing is you can see the fax job in the status screen, but we were not able to delete it, it had to print out.

I just had the same problem. The copier feels that it must print out the incoming fax so I went into fax settings and set the tray to MP. It spit out the fax and now works just fine.

We had a customer complaining that they had to manually intervene and hit the start button to get an incoming fax to print. It started immediately after a sales manager visited and played with the machine. It went on for a year and a half before they casually mentioned it to a tech who was there for another issue. Turns out that the sales manager had changed the paper trays all to plain but didn't change the FAX paper setting. If the FAX paper setting doesn't exactly match one of the paper sources it just sits there until you tell it to ignore it and print out on what's available. I leave everything set to the defaults unless the customer has a pressing need to change ONE of the paper sources.

This one drove the tech crazy for two weeks, swapping out faxes and boards.
