I have two problems...

1. the sheets are coming out curled down... that I think I can fix...

2. my real issue is that the motor powered exit tray is descending too fast... when it moves it drops just a bit further than the paper should comfortably fall... if there is a massive print job... the paper can wind up on the floor...

any suggestions...

Have you checked your limit sensors on the sorter.

Does it have the sorter or just an exit tray?

I saw this once: there is a solenoid that taps a finger down on the paper after it ejects. The finger tells the machine how high the stack of paper is. The solenoid had some kind of foam pad inside (noise buffer??) that was causing the solenoid to stick. I just pulled the pad out and cleaned the solenoid, problem solved. The solenoid was not noticeably louder so I was all set.

Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt
