Having problems with a DP-2800 printer with toner spots on the prints. I have narrowed the problem down to the developer roller. Wiping the roller clean solves the problem temporarily but it will show up again in approx. one week. I have replaced the dev. unit with a brand new one but the problem continues to show up. KM says humidity is cause. Problem existed during winter months when it is very dry up here. Has anyone experienced this problem?

I've had something like that on the DP-3600 (I think it's the same dev). I also cleaned the mag roller (by vacuuming and dry wiping) but after having it re-occur a few times I tried opening the unit and cleaning all the toner out. I then cleaned the doctor blade by shoving a piece of mylar between the blade and the roller, then running it back and forth along the blade, as well as cleaning the roller. You'll feel some hard crud coming loose. So far so good and it has been at least five times as long as just cleaning the roller alone

I have had the same problem on the Dp-2800 , I cleaned the mag roller then used a business card to clean between the doctor blade and the mag roller. Have not had the problem again and the machine has approx. 550,000 copies.

If your still having the problem, Try cleaning out your DV unit and replacing the toner cartridge that is in the machine. I have had the same issue a couple times in the past with FS series printers. Excessive moisture in the toner cartridge will cause problems.
