Does anyone know what to do for jam 47 codes?paper is doing the accordian fold in fuser and has image on front and back, there is 2 sheets in fuser at this point and then I have a single side image on paper in duplex. This machine has a df71 finisher on it. I have already cleaned registration rollers and duplex top and bottom rollers and checked spring tension on ak71c.If anyone has had this problem please help.Going back in a.m. to take a new duplex section with new clutch and rollers. This is a sparatic thing but enough to be a pain.

Thanks,Fixin copiers

I had a similar problem on a 3530, sporatic jams when duplexing, but jams always appeared around the fuser/ak71c area. Originally thought the teeth on the ak71c were warped. Found the one-way bearing on the front of the switch-back unit was dirty... disassembled and cleaned the bearing and shaft.. problem went away.... Good Luck.

Check the frame assembly on the AK-71. I've seen them get bent from the customer not using the release lever on the finisher to move it away from the copier and it causes the AK to misalign.

Definitely the one way bearing in the switch back unit-- replace it. Cleaning will only prolong the agony. Also confirm that the AK71 is straight and not pushed in,in the middle.

hey guys thanks for the input I had a rookie mistake and took off old one and then put it right back on like a dummy.STRESSFULL DAY.But yes the oneway bearing is the culprit on this issue.
Thanks,

Just worked on a J-47 (duplex) code this morning. It was the solenoid on the exit unit not switching fast enough. Best thing to do is replace the entire exit assy. Then you get new switches, solenoid (with new spring), 1-way pulley & rollers for about $150.00 instead of dinking around with it for days like I just did. The part number is upgraded from the Falcon 3 but everything looks the same.

Just had TA 420i with j-47 & j-81. Switched out the whole exit unit still get j-81, tried adjusting the attachment kit and it was better. going to try to replace the whole attachment kit next.

we also replace the entire exit assembly. a lot of stuff goes on in there and head + time takes it's toll on the unit.(remember, it sits right above the fuser). Less hassle to just replace. Thanks Skookumchuck for suggesting first.
