DP-700 Double Feeding Problem

Unit has about 30,000 scans through it and is constantly pulling in multiple originals, sometimes 10 or more at the same time. I changed the Separation Roller, Pick-up Roller, the Belt and a new Torque Limiter, problem is back. I even tried a separation roller from an 8030, no difference. As far as I can tell there are no adjustments for pressure on this feeder, any ideas? Thanks.

I didn't do that, it's feeding in bunches, not continuously, but at this point it's worth a shot. Thanks

We've only had that symptom when the gear that drives the sep roller was missing. Is there any chance it came off or is not meshing with the next gear properly?

We've had several of the Back feed roller's "torque limiter" (if that's what it is called) cracking. I believe there to be a design flaw due to so many that are cracking. Have you already checked that new one hasn't cracked already since you replaced it?

Haven't checked for a crack yet but I will, and I checked all the gears, they are where they should be, could be a drive issue with the separation gear though, I'll check that too. Thanks for the ideas, I thought these F3's were supposed to bulletproof?

how many scans can you get in between service calls? This is similar in design to some Savin doc feeders we have. We replace the sep roller on almost every service call just to prevent this from happening. We have several Dp700's out and change sep rollers often. I haven't seen this yet.
hope this helps...

thanks for reply.the machine is in a very copy sensitive area ie the number of originals has to equal the number of copies or production stops.the machine has only done 40000 prints in 10 months and is on its second doc feeder.we only seem to have this problem when feeders are on 5050s.

In my case we changed the separation roller twice, once by itself and the other time with the belt and pick up roller, neither time did it help. I ended up giving the customer a new document feeder last week, we shall see.

Can anyone provide a picture or scan the page from the parts manual, or just point me to the page/figure and item number of this cracking gear and/or torque limiter?
Tanks a bunch

Can I get part number of that gear to see where and which gear everyone is talking about. Put me down for multi-Feed issues also less than 25,000 copies--I have replaced torque limiter and sep roller only thing that helped the most was to remove the sep roller mylar .

I gave up on these 'green' sep rollers a while back. I slide the green tyre off, bin it, and replace it with a rubber tyre!!!!

And that is the end of that

(SRDF-1 Lower sep tyre shortened to fit)

Is this still a problem for others?

Just wondering since we are getting our butt kicked in an attorney's office that runs the wheels off of their 5050's for scanning and copying.

I too have replaced the DP and still get multi feeds. Just replaced the sep roller, belt, feed roll and friction clutch. I have not seen the problem once, but there are over 200 J-75's.

I am about ready to try the replacing the green with the rubber and/or cutting the mylar.

Any input is appreciated.
