I have a DF-73 Finisher on a 3035 and it gives a C8030 code when multiple copies are made, the first sheet makes it out, the seconfd makes it aobut 3/4 of the way out then the finisher stops, the copier continues to work and backlogs the remaining copies between the exit and finisher, its as if the finisher just plain quits, all sensors have checked out.

I've got the same problem, only in my case it doesn't always stop with a sheet 1/2 to 3/4 out. Will be going back on this today with the finisher manual I just recieved... I'll let you know what happens. Unless by now you solved this problem???

Well, heres what I did to fix the problem:
I turns out that the problem only happened when the tray was empty or near empty. It look to me as though the Surface View Sensor was detecting the tray too high up. Because when the Finisher checked the tray during copying it would position the tray up and move it past the Tray upper limit, generating the C8030. I repositioned the front exit tray pinion gear 3 or 4 teeth up the front rack and this seemed to do the trick. I don't particulary like this fix, but in the absence of more accurate info. this will have to do. The finisher manual I recieved is seriously lacking in useful information. The main body C-call report calls C8030 a "Finisher Conveying Belt" error but the DF-73 manual calls this a "Tray upper limit detection Problem". Hope this helps the curious. If anybody has better info on this please let me know. Thanks |
