I got a Km-4050 with a DF-710 on it I'm getting C-8140 when offset sorting to tray A. when it does its normal up and down movement it doesn't stop were it should, it drops like 10-11 inches. In sim 241 switches check out fine and in sim 240 the motor stops the tray at all the correct positions. So I went with finisher main brd. and that did not fix it any ideas thanks Skyshot1

the spring connected to the solenoid inside the finisher for the paper tray is broken.

the feelers of the paper lift are stuck in the up position and the sensor doesn't get covered up. if you pull the middle section out and look inside the finisher, it is on the right side of the finisher.

This is an older post that I have to ask for help on again. I have fixed this problem before with the DF-710 tray A when offset sorting that the hold down fingers do not come out and tray A then keeps dropping and finally goes into C-8140. The way I fixed it before was by replacing the spring and solenoid that acuate's the hold down pawls this time this did not work anyone have to take this problem further than spring and solenoid thanks in advanced

I came across this recently. It turned out to be excessive belt tension on the tray A lift belt tensioners. I loosened the screws, let the springs apply the appropriate amount of pressure, then snugged down the screws. That's it. =^..^=

=^..^=
