Could use some help. 32k copies, no problems, print system, but not in use. Turn on, fan begins, program loads, c-9500. open front door, and shut, no affect. Turn off, screen remains lit, with nothing on it. Engineering says it's the ribbon cable between the exp lamp and interface board. Cable backordered till may. Any suggestions?

A c9500 code, I bet you are in for a real treat here, read up on the 830's bulletin 4. the last couple times I've had this code I had to send the scanner relay pcb back to Japan for repair, which takes a couple weeks to get done. have you done any board replacing?
Haven't touched a single board. Called dist rep, who said they always have a few of the backorder parts---didn't you want to hear that---and he will get me a cable in a day or two. Have read Bull. 4. Always hope when a board only fits one machine. Have successfully changed out scanner (Mail) PCBs in this model -- but not this box. Thx. Fred

Did this 830 have a finisher on it and then get turned on with it disconnected? I discovered by accident that having the finisher interface pcb installed in the copier without having the finisher connected caused this code.

No finisher. Sits in the office of a high dollar restraunt. Across the hall from the kitchen, with no direct access. Most of the time the office is locked, with menu's being made once a day on parchment paper. The customers story is they turned it on last Wednesday morning, and boom, the code appeared.

An employee may have tried to copy money. The code isn't documented but when I first called the hotline about my c-9500 the first words out of the operator's mouth was "That's the counterfeit detect code, was somebody trying to copy money?"
In my case this was immediately after replacing the 4 developer clutches mentioned in a different tech bulletin, on our showroom machine. No counterfeiting happenning that day.
