Look at a former post "FS 3900 duplex jams", this should solve your duplex jamming problems. Moving the paper slightly to the right works really well. This also works on the 2020, 3920, and 4020. Haven't seen a problem with primary feed jams. Posted February 15, 2010 09:48 AM We have had this problem on countless 2000, 3900, and 4000 models. The cure is to move the paper to the right (as you are looking at the front of the printer) just a little. To do this, lift the bottom plate in the cassette up above the left and right cursor guides. Mark the position of any tooth on the gear rack in the bottom of the cassette closest to the front of the cassette. Remove the gear in the middle (brown gear) and move the left cursor guide one tooth to the right. (Do not move the right side cursor.) Replace the gear in the new position. This moves the paper to the right about 1 to 2 MM but not enough to make a difference in the side registration. This has cured the problem in every printer we have experienced this problem on. This is an easy procedure to do, but one that is hard to explain. | |||
