I have a customer that has a 5016 that wants to run heavy media. It is in factory specs but it won't fuse. Any suggestions? We set the machine at it's panel for cardstock and extra heavy.

It has to be set through the driver for the paper type. The driver will over ride the machine settings.

Maybe use one of the 8 custom media settings and define it to use a high fuser temp?
The driver will try to autoselect media type, and if the media type specified in the KX driver doesn't match one of the paper sources, the printer should stop, begin beeping, and prompt for the proper media to be loaded. I went through this with a customer that demanded that they be able to just load any media in the MPT and print without any beeping. I had to configure 3 drivers with Prescribe commands that would reconfigure the media type of the printer's MPT to match the 3 different thicknesses of cardstock that they printed on. Ultimately lost the customer because deciding which of the 3 drivers to print with (though clearly named) was too much brain-work for them. "It's not dead, it's just resting." |

ah yes, the i wish the computer and printer will automatically read my brain scenario...ps i used to set it with separate tabs, now i create a profile, it is like a memory for those customers that cant remember what they are doing.
