HEY GUYS, NEED SOME HELP ON A CS1620\CS2020. I FIRST HAD A LOUD AIRPLANE NOISE ON MACHINE.I REPLACED THE WHOLE LASER UNIT BECAUSE POLYGONAL MIRROR MOTOR WAS MAKING THE NOISE. WHEN THE NEW LASER POWERED UP NOISE WAS GONE BUT NOW I HAVE A C-4000 CODE.TRIED ANOTHER LASER UNIT AND THE SAME CODE POPS UP. TRIED ENGINE PWB AND THE CODE C-4000 IS STILL COMING UP. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? I ACTUALLY HAVE 2 MACHINES DOING THIS. THANKS, FIXIN COPIER

Is it a new laser or a rebuilt? Kyocera has an extended warranty for 1 year full replacement for noise and or codes. Check wall voltage, is it stable? Voltage drop of 10% causes code. Also try replacing the drum assy. Other Falcon I and II had issues with a main charge arc to drum giving you a laser code.

Sounds stupid, but try running sim 163 (fuser error reset simulation). ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com

Hey guys, I found my fix after replacing the new laser and the engine board I had the same error code came up. checked all my connections and checked for grounding problems and found that i actually got 2 bad laser units back to back from kyocera!!!!!!!!!!! They need better quality checks because this is not a fun way to repair machines when you know what the solution should be and then they tell you on the hotline I don't know what is wrong. Boy this really helps, anyway I got it going with a 3rd laser. Thanks Fixin copiers
