We have a client that runs an invoice job each night using PDF files coming from CreateForm software. They are having problems getting the auto tray switching to work. The unit is set for auto tray switching and they are sending a letter job (that's the setting in CreateForm). The prints only come from tray 1 and then stops...won't move to the other trays to pull paper. The job holds till tray 1 is refilled. this job is run over night and we need the extra trays and the finisher to handle the size of the job. We have tried every setting we cna think of, no luck. Anyone seen this kind of thing before? A straight job from Word or from acrobat works fine. Any suggestions?

Have you tried?:
!R! FRPO R1,99;EXIT; Auto tray switching by paper size. =^..^= |

There's also another setting - I think it was X1. I think that may only be for PCL6 but may be for KPDL too.
What emulation are you running? PCL5e is the simplest - doesn't use media types which can hang a job up. Relax? When?! |

!R! FRPO R1,99;EXIT;
is the PreScribe command to enable auto tray switching for printing. PreScribe is the native language of most Kyocera MFPs and printers. First, write the command in either TextPad, WordPad, or NotePad application. All PreScribe Commands start with !R!, and end with EXIT; It's important that the syntax of the command is exactly correct. You cannot substitute small letters for capital letters or vice versa. Do not add or remove spaces. Save the file with a .prn or .txt file extension. Second, download and open LPR Jar. The utility will pick up the PCs host name (if it doesn't , that doesn't matter). Press Choose to browse to the command file. Enter the IP address of the printer on the appropriate line, then press Send. At the printer you'll notice the memory light blinking while the command is being executed. Longer strings of commands can take a long time to send. Don't panic. LPR Jar is Java based and will not time out regardless of how long it takes to transmit the command. I hope this helps. =^..^= =^..^= |

Thanks guys for all the tips...should have followed up sooner on this one. After some detailed analysis by the presales tech team at KM it was determined that the Createform output was actually bypassing all of the settings in the drivers and there was not a way to be able to create the autoflow. We ended using a 3000 sheet paperbank and getting around it that way. Hopefully the new one will be more reliable than the one we replaced on a FS-9500.
So far so good. thanks for the suggestions. |
