The font for the bar code needed must be on a CF Card. Yes there is a bar code kit. I don't think it is cheap. The demo version is available on kmaconnect. We find that sometimes the 3of9 bar code will work and it can be found for free.

Early versions of the machine firmware allowed version 2.00.00 Barcode Font to be copied to any ordinary CF card. About four versions of firmware ago Kyocera blocked that ability. Currently, you can download version 3.01.00A Barcode Font. If you send it to a non-Kyocera CF card it will run as a DEMO version ("DEMO" watermark in the background of all prints). If you send it to a Kyocera Barcode CF card it will give you full function. The copier barcode fonts do not function with apps like Microsoft Word or Excel, but 3of9 does. I would suspect that the reverse is also true (3of9 probably will not work on your CF card). I have had a number of these CF cards die lately, usually after powering off/on to upgrade firmware. I suspect that these CF cards function better when powered up for only short periods of time. When continuously under power maybe it forgets how to flash? =^..^=
