You may well need a new DIMM, but you could try the panel reset procedure (switch to Boot, wait for data light to stop flashing and pit back to normal)and then loading the firmware via CF (CF slot hidden in the rear of the machine next to HDD). You won't see any progress on the panel for about 20 minutes or so. Even with a new DIMM you might need to reload the panel via CF to recover it.

I should have left it alone!

I did the panel reset and I attempted to load, reload the firmware without success. A new dimm has been ordered . Are their any pitfalls (tips)I should be aware of when reloading the firmware?

Thaks

Don't lose power.
Don't turn off the power until it say "Complete" or "Failed" (usually about 45 minutes).

I usually unplug the network cable. It seems to slow down the upgrade if the idiot endusers are barraging the machine with print jobs. =^..^=

We have a 520i with the dreaded Welcome Screen, no error codes and cannot get into maintenance mode.

Tried Ram, Code Dimm, Mainboard, Panel, HDD's , boot switch and Firmware without luck. Tried pulling fuser and hdd's. Haven't tried firmware via CF.

Reading through a few other posts, its mentioned that there is a flow chart to follow. Has anyone got a copy they could post?

Thank you.

I had that happen to me on a TA250ci, changed all the boards, tried updating basic firmware by CF (that I left in for over an hour), the machine was DOA. Just saying that even if you do everything you can, it still may not work.

If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.
