Weird lock up while performing the Auto Gray Adjustment on a KM-C3225. Got the first page of colored boxes to print out and had just put it onto the platen glass to scan when the copier indicted to "check the waste toner container", sure enought it was quite full. Put a new waste toner container into the copier and expected to continue on with the Auto Gray Adjust proceedure. Pressed the "Start" button to scan the first print out and the copier just sat their displaying "Now Auto Adjustment" on the OP panel LCD. Waited a good ten minutes wondering if this would go away then powered off the copier and then powered it back on and reperformed the Auto Gray Adjustment with no problems.

No surprise there.

This came up on another manufacturers machine. If the machine happened to run out of toner during a firmware upgrade, the machine would from then on show "Add Toner" (even with toner added). The fix was to re-load firmware after the error condition was corrected.
