On setting up a few 400i machines this week I have had S01 whilst running sim 410, I have managed to get past these by running several dev and drum refreshes.
I now have one machine that will not perform U410 after printing out the first sheet, when it scans it, the result is S02. I have firmware to 8.01 and have run 412 along with colour calabration and registration. I just wonder if anybody else has had this and if there is anything missing? thanks in advance, Nigel. it's more like a big ball of wibley-wobbley ... timey-wimey ... stuff. |

I hardly ever use the U410 in sim mode. The same thing is available in user mode. I'm assuming that you're getting the same result both ways.
Maybe I'm just distrustful by nature, but all these recent firmware updates give me the impression that the writers of the firmware either don't test it out very much before sending it out to us, or are trying to fix things with firmware that really require hardware fixes. Some executive says "Yeah, we know that part is defective, but can't you change the firmware to make it work? We don't want to have to redesign that part, or provide the new & improved replacement parts on warranty." As of today I have 8.01 on only (1) machine, and I'm watching it closely. =^..^= =^..^= |

Thanks for your reply blackcat4866,
yes, the same thing is available in user mode and says that it was not able to perform operation and check original (something along those lines) hence the question about sim 410 as at least we get an error code. will pass this up the technical chain and see what we get back, thanks again.
