Stupid question, we can't seem to find how you change the default operation from Color to Black & White, we have a pick-up machine that has no user manual, and they would like to change it from Full Color to Black & White, they seem to have a problem hitting the button all the time.

Oh hey Hatman, I know how to change this for you. Its been a while since I've had to do it so this may not be exact, but it should point you in the right direction.

Set the machine to Black and White at the ready to copy screen, and then hit the utility button. Choose "Store" and then I believe "Reset Mode", "Current Mode", and then "Set". This should default the machine to Monochrome.

Its kind of confusing, but I like it for the fact that you set the machine exactly how you want it to be defaulted, and then store it using the above functions rather then going through several menu options and setting the defaults individually. Good luck!

Been a while since I've messed with this model, but I think it's as simple as:
Set the machine up as you would like the defaults to be (i.e. black/white, etc...).
Then touch Utility,
Then I think you will see a button on the screen that is something like "reset mode" or something. Touch that button. Then select current settings as default instead of factory defaults.

Why is it that lately I always seem to be literally 1 or 2 minutes late??? I guess it's better than never trying to help!

That's it!
Thanks, and Dummietek I'll be ridin' Sunday, the season is winding down so I'm trying to sneak in as many days as possible.
I did a 2-day trackday at Thunderbolt Raceway in Millville NJ in August, and yes it was AWESOME!
