This one is giving me fits. Unit prints internal, flash drive, faxes, and regualr prints fine. Copies on the glass are light, B/W or Color. Replaced ISU, no good. Adjusted surface potential and it worked for a while but now it's back. Only time you get it is on copying, both sides through the doc feeder. I believe it's the Main PCB, but I want to see if anyone else has had this problem and possibly have a solution. I have updated the firmware about 4 times already.

HAVE A 500CI IN SHOP RIGHT NOW, SAME PROBLEM. PRINTS, INTERNAL AND EXT GOOD, SCANS GOOD, COPIES LIGHT. CHANGED MAIN, ENGINE, EXP LAMP, ISU, HOTLINE SAID HAVE TO RECALIBRATE TARGETS IN SIM 411 AND 425. HAVE TO ORDER CHARTS TO DO THIS $$$$$. SHOULD BE IN TODAY WILL LET YOU KNOW
I had this once before and I think that sim 410 fixed it. Also you could try cleaning the optic mirrors and under side of glass and slit glass with windex if 410 doesn't work. Just something simple, you may have already checked it, there are two different eco modes on some of the new machines, One for copy and one for prints.
Mitaman3. Did you find the solution to this problem? I'm having the same issue with a 400ci. Print is fine but copies faded. May have happened after doing sim 464 ac cal. Any help would be appreciated.
need to go back to basics on this one, the machine will reference the standard white plate under the glass to see what "white" is. You need to thoroughly clean your optics, it's no different than an analog machine. Had 2 TA 250's doing weird things when copying only, one had a brown streak, the other had a strange band going down the page. The brown stripe was caused by a mashed up piece of cookie under the white plate area, this caused the machine to think brown is white only in this area, the other was pink glitter blown under the gap and onto the white plate, which made for a very interesting effect also.

Something similar happened to me on a TA221. It turned out that ecoprint was turned on as a default setting in the machine and that only affected the copying process.
Already checked the ecoprint. It was off. I went back onsite today, a week after working on it last time and IT'S A MIRACLE!!! The copies had returned to normal glorious density. Not sure what occured here but I hope it stays that way. Let us Tebow.
SOLVED! FLIP PLATEN GLASS OVER, CHECK ADHESIVE STRIP BETWEEN GLASS AND WHITE PLATE. HAD SMALL AMOUNT OF TRASH THAT HAD PUSHED BACK THE ADHESIVE STRIP. TOOK PLATE OFF CLEANED WITH ALCOHOL, APPLIED VERY SMALL AMOUNT GORILLA GLUE TO SEVERAL LOCATION AND STUCK BACK TOGETHER. COPIES GOOD. LOOKS LIKE SOME PAPER WAS PUSHED UNDER PLATE AND MOVED ADHESIVE STRIP. GOOD LUCK
