What about the new 3225/3235 series. I was told they are a C or G series, don't remember which. But wanted to find out from people that actually work on them before I let a saleman talk me into buying one. I already have a dog in the C2630

copycart - I'm a little confused - the new series is the 'ci' or 'TaskAlpha' series.
From what I understand there are a lot of the 'Voyager' series being dumped on the market at low cost. Our experience with the 'Voyager' series has been OK, but the 'TaskAlpha' series has much better color as well as several other improvements. The Voyager was much better than the 2630's - and the TaskAlpha should be no comparison at all. Only time will tell.... Relax? When?! |

Catch me if you can! |
The Voyager E (3225e, 3232e, 4035e) series is out of production and is just being replaced by the TaskAlpha series right now.
They have OK quality, feed much better than the 2630, but unfortunately it is a big money pit as far as maintenance. Every Kyocera color series to date has had the same issue. They don't have cheap problems, they always require the replacement of entire expensive sections. The Voyager E machines have had issues with developer units (updated multiple times) and the fuser section. You have to replace the entire section, no individual parts are even listed in the parts manual. It will put a drain in the service department budget. This has historically been the story of all the Kyocera color machines. They are all money pits. After seeing the TaskAlpha in regional training, I don't feel assured that this will change in this series also. They spent a lot of time pitching all the improvements for print quality, but I just don't see where this one is substantially different in durability from the Voyagers. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com |

It appears that, like virtually all consumer products, Kyocera is making the move toward disposability.
So much of 'Eco-Friendly'... |
