I am getting 1" cyan 1" clear solid bands continuously from front to rear. on all color prints, copies. The Xfer belt is also banded with cyan and the machine is perpetually adding toner, guess what color.... CYAN. Reseated Drum unit, developer unit and charge roller. Does any one have insight on this? Firmware is v 9.01 installed today. Machine is brand new with 2,800 pages on it.

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Had a similar problem once it ended up being a flipped drum cleaning blade.

I checked the drum unit, cl. blade is ok. I think its either a poor ground on the charge roller or the cyan xfer roller, but that is only a hunch, will pursue this further tomorrow.

UPDATE: Have swapped out the Cyan dv unit, the Cyan Drum unit and since I didnt have a xfer belt assy, I swapped the yellow and cyan xfer rollers within the unit just to see if the problem would switch colors - NG. I was then instructed by KMA to inspect the HVPWB for cracks or anything visual, after 3+ hours, same problem. My thoughts are that something in the charging circuit is losing its ground but it is a repeating situation which is strange. I believe that this machine needs either a new HVPWB or the HVunit for the Xfer Belt.

Any ideas, I'm tapped???

the problem ended up being that the machine was dropped somewhere in transit between KMA and the clients. We had to claim on our insurance to get the machine replaced. There was no way KMA was going to accept responsibility.

How did you find out the copier was dropped?

When I called KMA for help, and started to disassemble the back of the machine I found the rear cover bent and when I got inside a fan shroud was broken and some other plastic wasn't right. When KMA came to the client they confirmed that the machine was dropped. By then I no longer had the original box, and if memory serves, there was nothing wrong with the box in the first place. I didn't notice any crushed cardboard or anything wrong, which would lend itself to the machine being dropped at the factory or warehouse when it was outside the box either before original packaging or during a modification at the warehouse.
