Hey guys, i have a C-3232 control panel and i have had 2 service calls for the control panel buttons not matching on what you want to press. When i get there the customer is correct, it won`t match. I have done 201 several times at the two calls i went to yesterday and i does great.I did 906 in between the 201`s. Now they have called back again for the same thing. What gives?

I have had that problem with several Falcon II's. I installed a new touch screen and had no trouble with those units since. I have never had to do it on any of the machines you are refering to. If you do one on a Falcon II be careful with the two white connectors on the front edge of the board below the 10-key section. They are soldered surface mount with no through the board pins. Sometimes very difficult to separate the connector and I have actually pulled one completly off the board.

Ya, replace the touch screen. You may be able to remove the screen and carefully clean both sides of the touch screen and also the face of the LCD screen, this sometimes works, but I had a voyager machine do this and I couldn't get it to initial at all even after careful cleanin. If you do replace it, there are some foam cushions that you need to either order along with it, or carefully remove the original ones and transfer them.

On all but one, I have had success many times cleaning away 'crud' that builds up between the top membrane and the plastic of the panel, relieving pressure from the corners of the actual touch panel underneath. Sometimes you can simply run a folded piece of paper around the edges - you may be surpised at how much rubbish comes out!

If you've got a customer that does a lot of keyboard entry on the touch panel, they'll wear out the touch panel. I've repaired three of them on Voyagers by replacing:

302FZ05060 Sheet Tablet
302FB25191 Tablet Operation
(2) of 2BJ25270 Sponge LCD A
(2) of 2BJ25280 Sponge LCD B

The sheet tablet is the outer skin that goes opaque & gets scratched up. The result is just as functional with the old skin, but not as elegant or professional looking.

=^..^=
