Replaced a Panasonic color w/ this machine. Customer hit me with CQ comparisons they are unhappy with. Firmware current and all CQ procedures followed. New transfer belt. Copies do not quite fill in the solid areas completely. Some white dots also. I am hesitant to tweek in MM since I don't know what I am doing. I am considering removing the drums and charge rollers and cleaning with alcohol. Any ideas?

IS it on all colors? Have you tried doing a test chart in JUST cyan, or magenta to narrow down the problem? The Voyager line was plagued by bad dev roller spacers. If this unit was never upgraded to the new Devs, it's most likely the cause. Pull out the dev units and look at the small white rollers on the ends and looks for cracks across them.

check the density setting.

also, cant compare machines, each one sees colors differently. i dont know anything about Panasonic, but even the KM lines dont show same color between models. thats why the TA series is the only one Pantone certified out of KM. our print shop went from Konic to the TA500 and colors were different, but they were truer to what they were looking for in the first place. and its different from the TA 550 they have as well.

i have been reading where you can upload color palettes into them, dont know how and havent tried it. but if you are trying to duplicate a Panasonic, dont think its gonna happen.

salesman should have looked at that prior to putting you into that spot.
