Machine today had intermittent streaks (all too common) but it was a dark orangey-yellow.

Same color was found in the cracks and crevasses of the yellow DV and drum, alongside the normal vibrant yellow powder.

Anyone see this before? I suppose I will have to replace both units, one for the discoloration and one for the streaking.

Perhaps, could a previous tech swapped drum units? ie: magenta & yellow? Or the customer jammed the wrong toner cartridge in yellow slot?
I don't think you can swap dv unit locations....

I've seen that. In class we were told that the cyan cartridge would not fit in the magenta hopper, ... yet there it was. And a lovely shade of purple, wherever magenta was required.

The solution was fairly simple. Install the correct toner cartridge. Pull out your laptop, and create a 100% fill yellow original. Start printing it to the MFP. It takes ~75 100% fill prints to deplete/consume all the toner from that developing unit.

That being said, if U131 is too far out, I'd just replace the developing unit. =^..^=

It will fit if someone had remove the black plastic inhibitor in the bottom of the toner holder. We have removed it to use TK-822 (FS-C8100 toner)in a pinch.
