Has anyone else have problems with these series doing slower copier speeds than what they are suppose to be. For example, customer calling us saying that there 300ci, copying 1 page BW with very little fill, taking 1:20 to copy. Updated to 11.6 . We went out there and watched it and sure enough it is doing it. It will just pauses whenever, not asking for toner, all the toners are at 70%. Checked the toner motors all good. Did all the user adjustments, sim 464, 410. Nothing. Replaced a whole MK kit, main and engine. Still pauses, even on print jobs. This machine is one of the first in the series.

We got nothing.

but over all the machines are very slow with every thing they do and toner dust every where
that is costing us a lot with the cost of toner and poor yield, the waste bottles fill like water

You guys cannot be having these problems, because I was told that I was the only in the country with machines running slow and other machines with poor toner yield. Have your Rep. visit these machines.

Yes slow prints are a regular complaint for all Kyocera color machines I've dealt with. Goes for the FS-C5xxx series printers also. Direct head-on-head drag race with older Xerox and even a customer's old inkjet doing 2-sided prints (had duplex option), and the Kyocera loses by a wide margin. There a plenty of end users that will ignore print quality in favor of getting their prints faster.

Well Todd, your Rep. should have taken it to a higher level until it was either fixed or REPLACED.
I have been there. Your customer payed for a machine to do a certain job, if it cannot do it there is a problem.

Try refreshing the developer, (most of the time this doesn't fix the ones I've seen). If that doesn't cure it, replace the black developer. This has worked for me.

mr2crazed is on the right path. Bk developer usually gets worked harder in most environments, requiring more frequent calibration, which slows everything down.

you cant hide the fact that these machines are not fit for purpose, wrap it up how you like they do not work you just have to look at the associated problems with task alfa colour on this site to see that. todd a hit the nail on the head "junk" lets hope for better with the new range.

i have had several of these units doing this and have had several things fix each one. one 500ci fixed with engine pwb and new dev units, all warranty. one 300ci main pwb fixed. one 500ci took hard drive init and new dev units. all these were warranty. same problems different fixes. I have fixed this problem with help from our service rep. First: Tech bulletin #6 (replaced all motors, dlp and cleaning) Second: replaced all dev units,(rep said not to use ones from pm kit as they are different. Of course make sure f-ware is up to date. After these procedures ALL machines are fixed and working well.

I have have always thought the speeds were rather erratic on the 250/500 range. When I worked on a 552 today it was really obvious how much easier the 552 passes paper. It was amazing to see just how fast it was compared to a 500 that does the characteristic start/stop/pause when doing a big run.
