I'm sure this has been discussed before, but if you don't mind my asking....Can the CS-C3225E color and black toner be used on KM-C3225E copier without any problems or issues?
2nd Item - Are both the PM Kits, MK-825A and MK-825B for a Copystar, comptible for use with a Kyoceramita?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions you have regarding this issue.
The toner can be used, but you get an unknown toner message and a message on the status page warning that the warranty will be void for using unknown toner. As far as the PM kits, I do believe they are the same.....
If I recall correctly there's an 'OEM' maintenance mode that you have to set to a particular number, then it won't complain about the toner as long as it's real KM or CS toner.
Also, I'm not sure how they'll be able to hold the'Warranty Void' over anybody - there are a number of posts about OEM toner not being detected as OEM....
Basically, we are a Copystar Dealer and will be installing a KM Voyager in a local account. We cannot warranty any items on the KM model so warranty will not be an issue. I am looking to curb any costs associated with the KM unit since I cannot purchase KM toner and pm kits.
The PM kits include the developer and drum units, and I am hoping that I can still use the CS supply items to maintain the equipment.
There is a U mode to for OEM setting but only resets the default settings in the machine.
On another note....regarding firmware, any idea whether CS firmware will work on the KM unit? We are unable to download firmware for the KM because of our status as a CS dealer.
Firmware is the same and the code is U265 2 = Kyocera and 66 = Copystar. This setting will probably affect the auto configure mode on the print driver. A KM machine must be usine a KM driver for the auto configure mode to work.
