3225 in an account that prints a lot of 8.5 x 11 booklets, 2 sided with borders. 2nd side borders do not line up with first side borders, off by 4-6mm. I have confirmed that internal prints from sim 34 are perfect when running 2-2 samples.

I had thought the problem was in the document itself, but the customer gave me a sample and our 5020 prints it perfectly.

Our KMA rep went out to the machine with me and confirmed the problem is only when printing. He tried some prescribe commands to adjust registration, but could not get them correct for this model. He took the file with him and tried it on a different 3225 and said there was no misregistration issue. He believes the problem is in the print system itself. I find that kind of odd but really cannot figure any other solution.

Question is, is there some way to "reset" the print system before replacing it? We have upgraded fw many times including the most recent version. It just seems like there is something we are missing that is causing this problem.

This machine also has a problem with poor density on anything other than 20-24 lb paper. Graphics print out with small white splotches in any solid area of a picture, etc. Of course the KMA rep said it is the paper they are using, but I ran the same paper at our office on our 5020 and it came out fine.


I am taking the file and the paper to a different 3225 and will try it there. It is a customer that won't mind, and we do not have any voyager machines at our office.
