I do get the odd strange problem on products and this is no exception. When running a simple four page duplex letter size document to create a booklet some copies don't get created into booklets and other times the pages exit into another tray on the finisher but never any jamming or codes. This is based on what the customer is telling me. I have asked the customer to try the same thing by using the machine only to see if similar problems occur. I will visit the machine in the morning but I thought I would ask. All FW is up to date. Only two months old and 30 K on the meter. Any suggestions please??? Thamks Ed

Does this machine have a hard drive in the PRINT CONTROLLER (HDME-5)? Z No HOPE, just BROKE. Anyone else - 2012

Which driver version are you using and what PDL is set? Had a 3232E that would print 6 sets of the first job that was ever sent to the machine at random points. Had to format the drive. Also have had a problem with KPDL running booklets, switching to PCL5C fixed that. Are these the SAME booklets or in the same run? Z No HOPE, just BROKE. Anyone else - 2012

They are the same booklets running the same job. I cannot speak about the KPDL running but I will be sure to check on the switching over to PCL5C as a possible solution. I was hoping to hear back from the customer today if they tried doing the same job directly at the machine. That would really tell the story. Thanks so much. Ed

Just one question, are you sure you have the compatible DV-710 for this copier as outlined on page 17 of Tech Bulletin #1? We had an incorrect finisher connected to one once and it does all kinds of strange things, mainly jamming issues. If your not sure you can check the Serial # of the finisher, to be compatible with the 4035E it should be PRA7508105 or above.

I am sure the correct finisher is installed but it doesn't do any harm to check the serial number. I will make a point of looking and also I hope to ask the customer if they tried to create the same jobs directly at the machine and report back. Thanks Ed

KX driver 4.4.0403 has a conflict with Adobe 7 & 8, possibly others, when printing booklets. You may get print card lockups, blank prints, or pg 3 image may overlay over pg 2 image. My solution is to delete the driver and load KX driver version 4.2.1515a (the one on the original disk). =^..^= =^..^=

Or install the PPD? Z No HOPE, just BROKE. Anyone else - 2012

It would seem Adobe is the problem. Version 6 is ok but 8 and 9 seem to be the problem. Also advised customer to try FOXIT READER as a possible solution,it seems to do pdf files just fine. Still waiting for a report on the customer using the same document at the machine but I think it will work just fine. Thanks for all the tips. I have printed off this thread to file away. Ed

Or install a generic post script driver with the PPD. Z No HOPE, just BROKE. Anyone else - 2012
