This machine has recorded 27 occurences of the code (no I've never seen it myself). The machine has only 25K prints. I've disassembled the transfer belt assembly and cleaned and applied sone white grease to the color release cams, and cycled the motor many times manually and through sim U030. I also cleaned the color release photointerrupter, but the unit was really clean so nothing to really clean.

Has anyone seen the C2700, and is it the color release motor like I suspect? Warranty will cover it, but it seems like such a huge waste to replace the whole unit. =^..^=

Have had it on 3 machines. In all cases, we replaced the transfer belt. Haven't had a problem since......

I have been provided with a European bulletin that suggests two causes:

1) Friction between the color release cams and the delrin contact surface. Solution: white grease.
2) Lateral contact between the sides of the reduction gears for the color release motor. Solution: insert a 0.5 mm shim between the two reduction gears on the same shaft.

I haven't had any re-occurrances since the fix. And yes, I know it's covered under warranty, but its just such a waste!

Thanks for the comments.

Has anyone had this problem that when you have replaced the transfer belt assembly twice, still having the C2700 code. Have also replace the engine board.
Have gone into U30 and can hear it work there.
Called Kyocera and they said to put yet another transfer belt assembly in we may have had 2 defective ones out of the box....ya right
