Jam 41

Anyone have this where the paper is stuck in the fuser but is not actuating any sensors, customer does not see it, clears other paper and tries to run the machine. The piece in the fuser causes the thermistor to be away from the heat roll or belt and overheat occurs, usually c6000.

My tech is troubleshooting the machine since this has caused 2 fusers to fail, and the 3rd fuser is still getting the jam intermittently.

If anyone knows what could be causing this jam 41, let me know.

Thank you in advance,

Mike

Cool2check your paper feed clutch pak assy,s and connection to the tiny pcb in the bottom, i have seen techs swap the gray connector with the blue on & viceversa, this triggers the particular problem " u" "r" discribing.paper will only feed to the fuser and stop right there with the forward motion of the paper feed motor in the on position...good luck...

DUMMIETEk...blue male connector fits perfectly on the gray cn...check...just resting... Cool1

Hi, weve had this problem in the UK for some time, the fusers have been modified (again), the part number should have a B at the end 2FZ9317B to say its the modified version.
When youve fitted the new fuser you must upgrade to the latest firmware as there are temp adjustments plus timing issues which will fix jam problems, recalibrate & all should be ok
Best of luck from the UK

This problem was caused by too small of a lead edge deletion. The customer had requested a previous tech, me, to reduce the non-printing margins to as small as possible for some things they were printing. The machine did not like the reduced margins and the borders the customer was printing along the lead edge. The technician simply increased the deletions, or margins, to spec and the machine seems to be okay.

We told the customer we believe the previous adjustments to accomodate their printing of borders was causing the problem, and if they have the issue, to reduce the print and/or move the borders they are printing.

Hopefully this and the newer fuser styles resolves the issues we are having at this account anyway.
