Try resoldering all the capacitors before buying new or paying for repair. I sent one off a month ago and when it came back the ticket stated thats all they did and it worked just fine. By the way ambassedor tech repaired the board

What problems are you having with the 850D, if it is overheating because the main cooling fan isn't working (cools the fuser) it may bake your toners and developer housings. Learned the expensive way.....

I've seen several of the capacitors mentioned above start leaking. You can look at them and see the ends are split and they are leaking. They are in the top left corner of the PCB.

Replaced a power supply today and the C106 capacitor was leaking down itself and onto the wiring harness around it. When you turned the machine off for service, etc. the machine would not restart. Had to let it cool for about 10 minutes before it would fire up.
I know most of you are aware of this, but be careful repairing the power supplies, especially resoldering or replacing the capacitors. If a capacitor is soldered in incorrectly, i.e. reversed, it can and probably will explode at some point shortly after being energized. I witnessed this once while in my primary MOS "C" school in the service. A couple of teams of "techs in training" where having a minor competition on disassembly and reassembly of a work station monitor and they put some capacitors back in wrong. The monitor powered up and ran "OK" for a little more than 5 minutes, then the capacitor let loose. Well they had one more boat anchor after that.
I remember the big brown cap in the power supply of the falcon class bw machines with the cold solder joints. No power completely to the machine, rock the cap back and forth all of a sudden it powered up. I resoldered the legs to that cap, and never had a problem after. this 850D, completely dead. could hear a humming sound in power supply, ac in no dc out.
