do you have the updated fuser??? You may be getting old stock. You should not be able to lift the flat plate above the fuser belt very far, if you can, you got the old one.

It will come up a little.I just remember looking vaguely at that.that would make sense.this is the 3rd fuser.I put this one in about 2 months ago.how much should it come up?the fuser always has a burnt sheet of paper stuck inside of it.then it throws the c-6000 code.this time i dug out the jam and did 163.It reset and did not blow the fuse.thanks

What's your lead edge void? I prefer 3mm, but on machines that like to wrap, I'll increase that void to 4mm or 5mm, as needed. =^..^=

Devdumper, the mod for the fuser was to put a small ribs on either side of that plate so it won't lift that far, two mills is all, according to the tech pub. The part number for just the plate with the ribs is 302H794820 plus you need 3X of the washers BC049240 if it is too tight.

Hi.When you fit the Fuser Units, are you setting the nip pressure by screwing the 2 bolts in? They used to be supplied with pressures set, but now you have to do it.

PS I'm sure that Firmware had a fix for this issue too.

I agree with blackcat, adjust your lead edge and your problems would go away. Have that happen several times. Good luck. ML.

In addition to the lead edge void adjustment, try cleaning all fuser surfaces that touch the paper with silicon oil whenever you visit the machine. Remember the big bottles of fuser oil from the Ci7600? Use that stuff...

But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.
