Machine was just installed last week. I went to work on noisy finisher and after removing the finisher panels so I could see operation the machine would not power up. Power light would come on for about 1second, relay would click and nothing. Tried removing connectors on Power Source PCB and when YC8(24/5/3.3v to engine PWB) was disconnected the machine would power up with a very dark display. I could not get 24v at any of the connectors, other voltages seem OK. Tried with finisher plugged & unplugged. Should I assume power source pcb is bad or maybe something else needs to be checked, possibly something dragging the 24v down?

Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?
Had something similar happen except it was a 5v line that was grounded to the frame in the finisher, this caused a small cap-type fuse to blow on the p/s pcb. Had to replace the fuse same thing may have happened to the 24v side.
It's working now, don't know why. I was going to OHM out all the connectors starting with the Engine PCB to try and find a short, so I pulled all the covers off for access. Just for grins turned on machine and it worked fine. Next I wiggled and checked every connector/wire/component that I may have moved during disassembly and found NOTHING. Put it all back together and it still works and I do not have a clue.

Congratulations Copier Dude, you are now an official copier tech!!! Now you have the right to wear a magicians hat and carry one of those wands they use in your tool kit. LOL

Man, I would have had a heart attack. Glad it's working now. It's like, if it worked when you got there and it doesn't when you leave, you broke it. Happy Holidays.
