When I run more than 2 pages of legal or ledger from the MP tray I get a J-26 jam. These sizes work great from the drawers and I can run letter from the MP tray without any problems.

Previous tech has already swapped the MP tray assembly and replaced the exit unit.

Any thoughts?

Watch the size indicator for the MP tray to see if it changes when printing. Maybe the paper length sensor in the MP tray extension is defective.

That was changed too and no the size doesn't change.

The first 2 pages will have print on them but the 3rd will be blank. Sounds like timing but I know the previous tech had replaced the conveying switches as well.

Is the MP tray set to Auto Size Sensing? It sounds like no. I had something like this on Wednesday. What is "EX" paper size, anyway? =^..^=

The MP tray is set to "Auto" size detect. When running 2 pages of ledger, the second page overlaps the trailing edge of the first with no print on the second.

Seems like definite timing problem but all sensors have been ruled out. Tried adjusting sims 51 and 53 for the MP tray with no changes.

Gotta try main/engine I guess cuz it certainly sounds like length sensor like protec said

Is it double feeding? Sounds like you might have feed problems, rollers or one-way.

I can watch the MP tray as it's feeding and not double feeding. It always fails at the same place on the second page for ledger and same place on the third for legal. And if were a failing one-way, it would fail in different spots on the pages.

Might be having our Kyocera rep out on this one. I'll post back once a fix is found.

check out QA #8474-HOLD. Replacing the bypass conveying section fixed my problems with jam 26 on one I had.

What's the difference between 8474 and 8474-HOLD?

As of now our Kyocera rep has been out and suggested replacing the eng pcb. Our tech tried that and still no fix.

Sorry, I just did a quick search and the hold one is the one that came up. I am not sure of the difference. I had a machine do this and found this QA and replaced the whole assembly and that fixed my problem.
