One of my techs called me from the region where he is trainng for the new ci200,300,400,500. He brought some samples from a customer that had CQ problems on a Voyager E-series. He said the print coming off the new machine are AWESOME!!! I just hope that the consumable items last.

CQ was never a big complaint for us,

The voyagers jam at a high rate and
many consumable failures

I just went to training last week on these and they have changed the paper path and reversing section quote a bit and it should help jamming issues. Also it can duplex heavier paper, tried coated gloss paper and it fused well. Only complaint is it seems to have the same plastic frame fuser style.

It is my understanding that the MK kits for these will not have a yield warranty outside of the initial 3 year period for the machine - so don't even think about 4 or 5 year leases on these or you'll lose your shirt if the fusing units are anything like the Voyager's.

Kyocera stopped issuing wireless servers with the machines. You may buy a wireless print server for $80 or $90 and connected to the machine.

Del,
For around $100.00 you can find and connect a wireless bridge to the ethernet port of the printer / scanner for wireless connectivity to the customer's wireless router. With a bridge connected to a Falcon 3 you would then be able to print and scan.

Hey Drew, thanks for the suggestion. Is there a brand and model you would recommend using? Merry Christmas

3 years or 1 millions copier, whichever comes first. I'm sure it's not hard to imagine. We have a 3232 with over 800k now.

I have used Buffalo brand wireless bridges - they have a four port switch integrated which is nice for the Falcon I/II and Voyagers - you can use one device for both print and scan. (Sorry - don't recall the model number)

Scoful,

After a bit of looking arround I found the model number you were refering to, WLI-TX4-G54HP. I would recommend looking on "ebay" to get an idea of how much it runs. Thanks again.

Cool1set up 4 boxes yesterday guys & here is the good news. make sure sim 410 is done right use white gloss paper for better color calibration also paid big attention to the drum refresh and deve refresh make sure you perform this in sequence for better C.Q. last perform gray adjust put about 10 sheets on top of the 4 patterns then perform gray adjust, after this your copies are going to look great real solid colors...congrats kyo..good bye konica...LOL...Now the bad news, failing to follow the set up and calibration procedure to the letter using gloss white paper will result in poor & shady copy quality...last upgraded the firmware before you do the set up procedure...

DUMMIETEK...open for business... Cool1

3yr / 1million page warranty on everything except maintenance kits, right? Which are 300k each? But you only get ONE warranty replacement in that original period, and then 90days for the replacement i think.

NW - That's what I got out of it too.
Frankly, the warranty on the machine itself has never done us a bit of good. It's always been the kit components that give us trouble.

I am certain KMA knows this - they're the ones processing all the DV unit and Fusers that have failed prematurely.

I don't know that I've had one Fuser even approach 300K on the Voyager series.

I had suggested in the past that KMA reduce the kit warranty and the cost of the kit (this would eliminate almost all claims and reduce their processing costs and ours). I guess they decided it was just better for them to leave us all holding the bag.

Looks like the buck has been passed.

Actually i was wrong, it's 1million on the 250 and 350 3million on the 400/500ci.
You replace a kit every 300k NO MATTER WHAT and everything's covered for the duration of the 3yr warranty.

Same thing as the falcon III's except it's 3yr machine warranty not 1yr. As it is now, the falcon III machines (if maint kits are replaced every 300k) will carry that 300k MK warranty until the end of time! (as opposed to the ci series which will expire once 39months from dealer invoice is reached.)

clear. as. mud.
