I respect everybody's opinion but i think that KYO has improved a lot since the 830,850. I like the taskalfa.
I'm not going to compare them with the big boys but i think it's a good box. ML.

As you started a thread, I'll add my opinion. The Taskalfa xxxci machines are BY FAR the best colour box's Kyocera have ever manufactured. Despite looking like a resprayed Voyager with a new panel, they've fixed most of the gremlins and the quality is much much better.

I should have left it alone!

Thats not saying must that the ci taskalfa is the best kma color, compairing to their other color products.
We stopped selling the km task alfa because of
inconsistent copy quality.

Even with 5.0 firmware, doing long runs (800 color prints in a shot) you still lose a bit of consistant color. Calibrations are still too long between, influx of toner causes drop outs in consistanty. Great machines for the 50 to 100 prints in a shot not so in the 500 to 1000 print jobs. Still doesn't beat the km-2230 in terms of the first copy out to the 1000 print out identical.

That's because the KM-C2230 is not a Kyo product.

I hear you on that. Not to mention all the registration adjustments are done automatically on the Monica. That would be chapter 2. Why cant Kyo at least get their equipment to do that. Oh, and the Oki's also perform registration automatically.

Guys, give it a break. Ok there's already been too many firmware releases, but I honestly believe it's a decent box. The colour reg is much more stable with the latest firmware too.

It may not live up to some Xerox or Konica-Minolta's, but I'd rather have a Taskalfa than a Ricoh colour!
