Has anyone experianced these machines with a general lack of density on all colours? Have updated to latest firmware, run dev and drum cleans. Stripped drums and cleaned LPH assy's.
I suspect an engine board fault but would rather not order one without asking the question here first!!!!

Thanks

Silly, but not so stupid question... are you using Hammermill 28lb. color copier paper or just 20lb. plain cheap crap...??

Just a reasonable quality colour laser paper. We hve several customers using it with no apparent drama. This customer also uses the same paper in their KM-C3225. So I dont think paper is the issue in this case.

How many prints? Could be bias high voltage PWB, dv units, drum units or engine, main PCB. Have you tried swapping dv units with another machine? Also try cleaning the TFR roller.

We have poor image quality also on a FS-C5025N, new unit out of the box. We use a 24 lb 113% Bright Laser Paper, so paper is not the problem. This unit has poor solids, along with uneven shading, specks of black, etc.. From the machine Test Print and from a computer. Our technics have yet to dive into the problem, this is just a notice for everyone to be aware.

Remove the LED array heads and clean them. Especially for light streaks / uneven shading. Sometimes the main chargers must be replaced or rewired depending on how brave you are at attempting to rewiring them. Try the LED heads prior to that though.

The final fix! 1x Black drum assy, 1x black developer unit and 1x Magenta developer unit in addition to 1x transfer belt assy!!!!!!!
All this on a machine with 21,300 prints.
The black dev caused a general lack of density due to lack of highlight on the other colours.
Replacing it showed up all the other problems.
