I just set up my very first taskalfa (500ci)brand new out of the box and sent it out to the customer. When they try to duplex and hole punch letter size, the finisher jams in the same spot, but it does so intermittantly. It might make 3 sets of 12 sheets and then jam or it might make 2 sets of 6 sheets or whatever. I'm sorry I can't provide you with a jam code at the moment, I will look it up. The jammed sheets are always in the same spot inside the finisher. I can't really tell you if it jams when using other configurations simply because the user hasn't tried any other jobs. Anyone else out there had this problem? Thanks.
Go to sim 241 and with the finisher pushed away, check the switch for the finisher entrance. We had one that after you put a piece of paper in the switch and take it back out the switch would sometimes stay on for five or more seconds and then shut off. Replaced the switch and boom worked like it should.
The error code is J80 so perhaps the sensor is my problem. I did the sim 241 test and the sensor seemed to operate correctly but that doesn't mean that the sensor isn't failing on occasion. Before I order a new sensor, do you happen to know if that same sensor is in other older models? I do have some junker machines here that I can rob parts from. Thank you.

You say it jams in the same spot every time, what would that spot be? Z

Sorry for the vague post. MultiTASKing. Think we got to the bottom of this. Redownloaded firmware files today. Installed on a clean usb key. Installed. Works great. Seems the download may have become corrupted at some point. Also, let the unzipping unpack to the defailt on the c drive that it wants to create, not a network drive. This issue can be created by running 2 to 2, 3 hole punched and stapled and it only jams on the LAST SET. The download we were using was version 5.00 downloaded the day after the webinar(first day available) Will update if issue re-occurs. Cheers
