Have a 500 that keeps stopping and adding toner. They are running high coverage B/w prints, it only runs about 8 pages before it stops and adds toner. Any ideas.

That's a little concerning.
Normally a simulation 21 corrects the problem.

Weird!

Update to ver 11 firmware
change sim 147(operation mode) to 0
change sim 486 to mode 1
run sim 464, select AC calibration, set all colors to on, then execute. you will have to restart after this.
run color reg
run color calibration,
enter sim 410 and press continuous adjustment, print and scan the 3 pages
run sim 412 and press default value, print and scan the 3 pages

this now a mandatory MCP on every taskalfa over here and does seem to straighten out a lot of weird problems.

Make sure the machine is clean and vac'ed before you start.

I'll trade you that little nugget for anyone who can post the welcome screen lockup troubleshooting guide, it's not available over here.

Check MM157 Dev Drive time for Black. If this value is over 5667 then the unit needs replacement.Update the firmware before replacing the Dev Unit. The current firmare does address the drive time issue causing excessive cycling and developer crash issues.I've resolved several by doing this.
