I have a 500ci and I am trying to put the customers logo on the front display but all the selections are grayed out in simulation 224.I can hit install but I cannot get a selection to install it to. I am trying to install a jpg file.

For starters it's not a .jpg, it's a .png, and it must be re-sized to 800 wide x 400 high pixels in an application like Irfanview version 4.23
The file must be named opening_ext_image.png

I find it easiest to start with a bitmap, open it in Irfanview, re-arrange, re-size, whatever, then save as a.png =^..^=

blackcat, do you think you could break down the process a little more for those of us that are a little less familiar with these things? I wouldn't want to mess anything up and not be able to restore the original screen. Thanks.

Fear not, the original screen does not get deleted, and you restore the original just by selecting it in sim 224.

It's pretty simple, but you must have basic graphic editing skills using something a bit more advanced than MS Paint. I use GIMP (freeware) but Irfanview (also freeware) has it's fans. You create the image, or just copy/paste some artwork onto a new blank file sized for 800x400 pixels. Save it as a .png file if the software allows it, or save as a .jpg and then later rename the file to "opening_ext_image.png" and it must be exactly that 800x400 size with that exact name.

Like he says. You can't really mess anything up. If the file isn't right the TASKalfa just won't accept it. And if you don't like the result just delete it in sim U224, and it returns to the standard screen. Give it a try.

I can forward you a document on the subject, but every point has already been covered here. =^..^=
