mltech, I think im having the same issue. 300ci has a faint background on the prints and copies. I noticed its mostly on black and white images. The tech before me installed drum,tr belt and all the cq procedures. The copy came out ok for a a couple of days and came back. Im replacing the black dv unit and checking grounds.
mariano...are you still having the trouble with the background banding? have done all the suggested solutions with still no fix. kyocera rep is coming back again to help out. we cranked up the transfer belt cleaning setting and it did help some

I returned with blk dev unit and blk motor. I installed a power investigator on the machine before I left last time. I looked at the results and it wast pretty at all. 1324 10volt spikes. I instructed the customer to fix that issue and then we can fix the machine problem. I will update yall when I get back out there.
Yes, still having background faided lines, customer getting used to it, it doesn't hapen all the time. now i have another problem with same machine looks like i need to replaced fuser unit, machine only has 10000 prints, it is ghosting. talking with other techs in my area they have been replacing fuser units like crazy, have you guys been having problems with fusers?. thanks M.L.

We have three machines with this fault. Very light grey stripes across the page. Last machine was a TA 400 and it is very intermittant. Has anybody found the solution to this problem. I have fitted version 7 firmware and waiting to see if it addresses this fault
Have you taken off the front cover to gain access to the Drum and DV units? I don't know why Kyocera insists on putting soooo much of that so called "Conductive" lube on the drum grounding tabs that are part of this cover but come on, the Exxon Valdez didn't even dump that much petroleum. I have gotten in a habit of remove the majority of this "Conductive" lube from these points and also at the drum drive coupling joints in the back side. Excess Conductive Grease The picture is a little out of focus because I took it with my blackberry one handed, but I think you all can see what I'm talking about.
I had to do the drum drive coupling and spring modification on a voyager "E" copier awhile back and in the modification directions it said to apply some of the "Conductive" lube to the drum coupling joint. Well I foolishly do this and get the copier reassembled and have all kinds of crazy toner dusting on the background problems. Took the drum drive motors back off and cleaned as much of that lube off as I could and just like magic, no more background issues.
